The village idiot, or the village of idiots!

Today I find myself surrounded by idiots, not just your typical idiot, but by idiots who think they are smart - the worst kind.
Swear to God common sense has become a rarity. What happened to it?

People calling asking questions about things they should already know. "um I have an appointment with (insert name here). Could you tell me when my appointment is?"
No actually, I can't. I don't have this information, I just answer the phones. The person you made the appointment with would have this information - but call me crazy, shouldn't you know when YOUR appointment is? You are, after all, the person who had to schedule the appointment in the first place. Maybe you should use your fancy new iPhone for something other than twitter and facebook. Try a daily calendar app, you know, to keep track of YOUR appointments.

Another example: The cleaning crew came in over the weekend to give the office/lobby area a thorough cleaning, in doing so they moved all of the furniture, cleaned behind and around but then left all the furniture in disarray.
Umm, half-assed job?
Why clean and then leave the office unusable? Does this not defeat the purpose of cleaning it in the first place? Thanks for coming in and cleaning now finish the job. Just a thought!

Not to mention the regular flow of idiots who have no idea what they are doing here, or where they are supposed to be. All they know is that they received information numerous times, they glazed over it, but have chosen to disregard the finer points, thinking that I would have all of their answers. First off - READ the information we send you, this would be beneficial to what you are trying to accomplish - Second, If you need a personal assistant, I suggest you hire one!
I am not your personal assistant!

This woman who is standing in my office, is not paying attention to her children. These children come around the barrier to my desk and start getting into things - Teach your children some manners! Not my job to tell your children not to touch things - Just had to tell them to be careful with the paper cutter while their mother was standing right next to them. Don't want to lose a finger. Not the fault of the children. Parenting...not for everyone! Somebody needs a punch!

I am finding it very difficult to keep from rolling my eyes, cursing under my breath or looking at these people and saying "Really?!" It's a struggle.
